Matt and Laura Lawson moved to Burbank with their 3 children from Woodstock, GA in 2015 to plant Story City Church. They have been joined by 2 other families: Tyler and Brooke Miller from Modesto, and Trey and Rachael Brunson, who moved with their two children from Louisville, KY. Tyler and Trey serve as pastors, who together lead the larger launch team. Story City officially launched on February 14th, 2016 with a service of 238 people. Their work is “For the Story of God, for the City of LA.” Their ministry is rapidly expanding in Burbank with events, small groups, and a new corporate gathering space. Anthology Church of Studio City

DJ and Alicia Jenkins moved to Studio City 3 years ago to plant Anthology church. They are both native Californians, and felt called to serve its largest city as missionaries. They, with their six-year-old daughter Piper, are in the adoption process and hope to meet their new son from China in the next few months. Their team also includes Steve and Andrea Cabrillos. Steve is a pastor alongside DJ and leads musical worship on Sundays, along with a weekly small group.

Anthology started as a small Bible study in the Jenkins’ home, and has grown into a corporate worship gathering in the Studio City community center with multiple weekly Bible studies. The team is working hard to display the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Studio City. Their mantra: “Uniting our stories together with God’s Story to see a greater work in our city.” You can find more prayer requests, needs, and stories of God’s work at Anthology by going to
